Cabin Steward

Job Overview

This position requires on-site work in Squamish, British Columbia, Canada, with staff accommodation and room and board provided. Candidates should have a secondary school graduation certificate or equivalent experience and between two to three years of relevant experience. English language proficiency is essential.

Key Responsibilities

• Clean floors by sweeping, mopping, washing, and polishing.
• Dust furniture and vacuum carpets, rugs, drapes, and upholstered furniture.
• Make beds and change sheets regularly.
• Distribute fresh towels and toiletries to guests.
• Maintain and stock the linen closet.
• Clean, disinfect, and polish kitchen and bathroom surfaces and appliances.
• Manage lost and found items and report accordingly.
• Respond to guest requests for additional supplies or information on facilities.
• Pick up debris and empty trash receptacles.
• Perform light housekeeping, including cleaning changing rooms and showers.

Required Credentials and Certifications

• Possession of Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) certification is mandatory.

Work Conditions and Physical Requirements

• Fast-paced work environment with repetitive tasks.
• Physically demanding duties involving bending, crouching, kneeling, and standing for prolonged periods.
• Handling heavy items weighing up to 23 kilograms (50 pounds).
• High attention to detail is necessary.
