Position Overview

Gourmet Food Parlour in Salthill, Galway, is seeking a diligent and hardworking Kitchen Porter to become an integral part of our culinary team. This full-time role involves working 30+ hours weekly across five days with flexible scheduling that may include any days from Monday to Sunday.

Key Responsibilities

• Cleaning and sanitising dishes, kitchen tools, and equipment thoroughly.
• Keeping kitchen surfaces, floors, and workstations spotless and orderly.
• Handling waste disposal and recycling following company guidelines.
• Receiving and organizing incoming deliveries, verifying items, and storing them appropriately.
• Maintaining tidy food storage zones with proper labelling and rotation of supplies.
• Applying the FIFO stock management system, including date labelling of produce.
• Providing basic assistance to chefs during food preparation when needed.
• Ensuring that all kitchen equipment is cleaned and well maintained.
• Adhering strictly to health, safety, and food hygiene protocols at all times.
• Collaborating effectively within the team to maintain smooth kitchen operations.

Candidate Requirements

• Prior experience working in a professional kitchen environment.
• Meticulous attention to hygiene and cleanliness standards.
• Ability to perform competently in a fast-paced kitchen setting.
• Good communication skills combined with a team-oriented mindset.
• Willingness to work during weekends and peak periods as needed.
• Legal eligibility to work in the EU, possessing a valid passport or appropriate work permit/visa.
• Proficiency in English language.
• Knowledge of HACCP standards is advantageous.
