Position Overview

Gourmet Food Parlour in Salthill, Galway, is seeking a diligent and hardworking Kitchen Porter to become an integral part of our culinary team. This full-time role involves working 30+ hours weekly across five days with flexible scheduling that may include any days from Monday to Sunday.

Key Responsibilities

Cleaning and sanitising dishes, kitchen tools, and equipment thoroughly.
Keeping kitchen surfaces, floors, and workstations spotless and orderly.
Handling waste disposal and recycling following company guidelines.
Receiving and organizing incoming deliveries, verifying items, and storing them appropriately.
Maintaining tidy food storage zones with proper labelling and rotation of supplies.
Applying the FIFO stock management system, including date labelling of produce.
Providing basic assistance to chefs during food preparation when needed.
Ensuring that all kitchen equipment is cleaned and well maintained.
Adhering strictly to health, safety, and food hygiene protocols at all times.
Collaborating effectively within the team to maintain smooth kitchen operations.

Candidate Requirements

Prior experience working in a professional kitchen environment.
Meticulous attention to hygiene and cleanliness standards.
Ability to perform competently in a fast-paced kitchen setting.
Good communication skills combined with a team-oriented mindset.
Willingness to work during weekends and peak periods as needed.
Legal eligibility to work in the EU, possessing a valid passport or appropriate work permit/visa.
Proficiency in English language.
Knowledge of HACCP standards is advantageous.
