Role overview
AgeWell Senior Living’s community in Lake Worth, Florida is seeking a part-time Wellness Associate (Caregiver) for its Alamar Senior Living location. The role is part of a senior living environment focused on resident wellbeing, dependable care, and strong customer service. The community is managed by AgeWell Solvere Living and emphasizes a supportive workplace and a high standard of service for older adults.

Key duties
- Support residents with daily living tasks such as bathing, dressing, eating, toileting, personal hygiene, and mobility when needed.
- Monitor residents’ physical and mental wellbeing and promptly report any changes to the Wellness Director.
- Track medical supply inventory and assist with reordering when needed.
- Help arrange coverage when unexpected absences occur.
- Assist in creating and maintaining resident assignments for the Wellness Director.
- Support the orientation and onboarding of newly hired Wellness Associates.
- Respond to resident emergencies, provide first aid, and coordinate appropriate medical follow-up.
- Help residents keep their living spaces clean, tidy, and organized.
- Answer assistance calls and respond quickly to resident needs.
- Support clothing and laundry tasks when instructed.
- Assist with meal choice, meal service, and feeding as assigned.
- Help with activity programs when assigned.
- Maintain records and files according to policy.
- Complete at least 6 hours of in-service education each year.
- Carry out additional duties as assigned.
Safety and communication
- Follow all emergency procedures and safety rules.
- Communicate clearly with the Wellness Director and other staff members.
- Immediately inform the Wellness Director and/or Wellness Manager about any resident health or behavior changes.
Qualifications
- Experience and genuine interest in working with older adults.
- Ability to handle physically demanding tasks, including pushing, bending, and lifting up to 60 pounds.
- Ability to build and maintain positive working relationships with residents, families, coworkers, and other staff.
- Good physical and emotional health, with no communicable diseases.
- Current state Nurse’s Aide registration is preferred but not mandatory.
Physical demands
- Must be able to bend and reach as part of the job.
- Must be able to push, pull, and lift up to 60 pounds at times.
- Must be able to remain standing for long periods.
- A Hoyer Lift may be required.
Additional conditions
- Weekend and holiday work may be required.
- Shifts may differ from the original schedule assigned.
- Extended shifts of up to 16 hours per day may be required.
- The role may involve exposure to infectious waste and diseases, including HIV, AIDS, and Hepatitis B and C.
- Residents may sometimes be hostile or emotionally distressed due to their mental status.
- Background, criminal, and drug screening may be required.
- Random drug testing may be requested during employment.
- Your photo or image may be used in social media or community advertising.
- Video recording may occur through devices installed by families in residents’ apartments.
