Overview

Sonata Delray Beach in Delray Beach, Florida, is seeking Wellness Associates / Caregivers / Resident Aides / Direct Care Staff for its assisted living and memory care community. The organization is hiring for both full-time and part-time schedules on the 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM and 3:00 PM to 11:00 PM shifts. This role supports seniors by delivering care that promotes comfort, dignity, and overall wellbeing in a service-focused residential setting.

The community is part of AgeWell Solvere Living and emphasizes a resident-centered approach with strong customer service and compassionate care. Team members are expected to contribute to a positive environment while supporting residents’ daily routines and individual service plans.

Responsibilities

  • Support residents with everyday personal care needs such as bathing, dressing, eating, toileting, hygiene, and moving around.
  • Monitor residents’ physical and emotional condition and promptly report any notable changes to the Wellness Director.
  • Keep track of medical supplies and help place orders when stock is running low.
  • Help arrange coverage when a team member unexpectedly cannot work a shift.
  • Assist with creating and maintaining staff assignments for the Wellness Director.
  • Support the onboarding and orientation of newly hired Wellness Associates.
  • Respond quickly to resident emergencies, provide first aid when needed, and ensure follow-up medical care is arranged.
  • Help residents keep their apartments clean, tidy, and organized.
  • Answer calls for help and respond promptly to resident requests.
  • Assist with clothing and laundry tasks when directed.
  • Help with meal choices, meal service, and feeding support as assigned.
  • Support scheduled activity programs when needed.
  • Maintain required records and files according to policy.
  • Complete all other assigned duties as needed.
  • Follow emergency procedures and comply with all safety guidelines.
  • Communicate clearly with the Wellness Director, Wellness Manager, residents, families, and other staff.
  • Report any changes in a resident’s physical or mental condition immediately to the appropriate supervisor.

Requirements

  • Experience working with seniors and a genuine interest in elder care.
  • Current State Nurse’s Aide registration is preferred, though it is not mandatory.
  • Ability to handle physically demanding tasks, including bending, pushing, and lifting up to 60 pounds.
  • Comfort working with residents, families, coworkers, and other team members in a positive and professional manner.
  • Must be in good physical and emotional health and free from communicable diseases.
  • Ability to bend, reach, stand for long periods, and push or pull as required.
  • May need to use a Hoyer Lift.
  • Willingness to work weekends, holidays, alternate shifts, and extended hours of up to 16 hours per day when assigned.
  • May be exposed to infectious waste, disease, and conditions including HIV, AIDS, and Hepatitis B and C.
  • May work around residents who are hostile or emotionally distressed because of mental health conditions.
  • Background, criminal, and drug screening may be required.
  • May be required to take random drug tests during employment.
  • May be photographed for social media or community marketing purposes.
  • May be monitored by video devices installed by families inside resident apartments.

Additional Information

This role reports to the Wellness Director and Wellness Manager. The position involves delivering care in line with each resident’s individualized service plan and contributing to the overall wellbeing of the community. Team members are expected to complete at least 6 hours of in-service education annually.

The employer notes that team members may be asked to work beyond the originally assigned shift, including shift changes and extended schedules. The job may also involve operational support tasks such as maintaining documentation, helping with inventory, and assisting with resident activities.
