Sonata Lake Mary in Lake Mary, Florida is hiring a full-time Housekeeping Associate for its Environmental Services team. Job summary
The Housekeeping Associate is expected to maintain cleanliness throughout the community and may also be assigned to resident apartments, including personal laundry, bed linens, and towels. The role contributes directly to a safe and comfortable living environment.
Key responsibilities
- Clean resident apartments when assigned.
- Maintain cleanliness in shared spaces such as hallways, landings, stairways, activity rooms, lobbies, elevators, and model units.
- Clean vacant apartments when directed.
- Keep public restrooms clean and stocked.
- Keep housekeeping and laundry carts organized and ready for use.
- Wash and dry community laundry using the correct products and methods.
- Follow the posted schedule, arrive on time, and wear proper work attire.
- Use emergency procedures correctly, including situations involving accidental chemical misuse.
- Follow proper practices for handling biohazardous waste.
- Keep the laundry room clean and store chemicals according to required procedures.
- Report workplace injuries to the Plant Operations Director or Business Office Director.
- Communicate clearly with the Housekeeping Supervisor, Plant Operations Director, and other teammates.
- Notify the Housekeeping Supervisor and/or Plant Operations Director when supplies need to be reordered.
Requirements
- High school diploma is preferred; GED is accepted.
- Ability to manage several priorities at once.
- Strong organizational skills and time management ability.
- Good judgment, problem-solving ability, and decision-making skills.
- Physical capability to bend and reach.
- Physical capability to push, pull, and lift up to 40-50 pounds when needed.
- Ability to remain standing for long periods.
