Job description

Company overview

Free Association Live is a modern live-entertainment business that creates everything from close-up immersive shows to large-scale touring productions.

The company leads the worldwide growth of Magic Mike Live, which has welcomed more than 2 million guests from over 70 countries through 6,000+ performances across Las Vegas and London, with earlier runs in Miami, Dallas, and Berlin since its 2017 debut. In addition, Free Association Live develops original live experiences built around storytelling, dance, music, and immersive formats.

Its productions aim to combine emotion, humor, and premium storytelling while setting a high bar for live entertainment.

Role summary

The Vice President of Finance is a senior, hands-on leader responsible for the full financial function of the business. Reporting to the CFO and COO, this person helps connect finance operations with executive decision-making so leadership has timely, reliable, and strategic financial insight.

The role works closely with the executive steering committee and supports board reporting, capital planning, and cross-functional financial strategy. The ideal candidate pairs strong analytical depth with practical execution and is comfortable both building models and presenting to senior stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

  • Lead the annual budget, quarterly forecast cycle, and long-range planning across a multi-entity, multi-market organization.
  • Own financial modeling for established venues in Las Vegas and London, the New York launch, and new development initiatives.
  • Create and refine scenario planning and sensitivity analyses to guide strategic choices.
  • Design KPI frameworks that give leadership immediate visibility into business performance.
  • Build and maintain management reporting systems that produce accurate, timely insights for the executive team.
  • Coordinate the monthly close process with accounting teams and help ensure the accuracy of financial statements across all entities.
  • Prepare reporting packages for the executive steering committee and the board of directors.
  • Strengthen financial controls, workflows, and reporting infrastructure to support growth and scale.
  • Develop board-ready materials such as financial presentations, investment memos, and performance summaries.
  • Support decisions related to capital structure, debt financing, investor reporting, and fundraising diligence.
  • Partner with the CFO and COO on strategic projects, transaction analysis, and growth evaluations.
  • Act as a key financial contributor in executive discussions by providing concise, decision-ready analysis.
  • Support structuring and analysis across business lines including live events, content, distribution, and licensing.
  • Assess partnerships, licensing deals, and expansion opportunities from both financial and commercial perspectives.
  • Assist with negotiation support and financial diligence for new business opportunities and IP growth.

Qualifications

Required:

  • At least 8 years of advancing finance experience, ideally across FP&A, strategic finance, and executive or board reporting.
  • Background in a media, entertainment, content, or live-events environment.
  • Strong financial modeling ability and comfort working with complex, multi-entity profit-and-loss structures.
  • Experience creating and maintaining financial reporting systems rather than only using them.
  • Direct involvement in board materials or investor communications.
  • Ability to explain complex financial topics in a clear, executive-friendly way.
  • Strong sense of ownership, analytical discipline, and comfort in a fast-moving environment with limited resources.

Preferred:

  • Experience in live events, touring, or experiential entertainment.
  • Exposure to multiple content and revenue streams such as film, television, music, merchandise, production, or licensing.
  • Experience spanning both corporate finance and content or deal strategy.
  • Previous work in a growth-stage business moving from one market to multiple markets.
  • Familiarity with cap table management, fundraising, or working in investor-backed or private-equity-backed organizations.
