Role Overview

The Relationship Manager - Farmer Finance is a specialized position within the Retail Liabilities segment, focusing on delivering customized financial solutions to agricultural customers. This role plays a critical part in expanding customer acquisition, nurturing existing client relationships, and ensuring high-quality service delivery. The incumbent collaborates closely with product and operations teams to boost customer servicing and portfolio expansion, significantly contributing to branch banking goals by managing New-to-Bank clients and improving customer profitability.

Key Duties

  • Enhance liabilities by increasing account balances of existing KCC customers and broadening wallet share.
  • Continuously analyze account transactions to identify new business opportunities.
  • Maintain active communication with customers through mailers and calls, sharing updates on interest and exchange rates as well as product features.
  • Generate new KCC sales leads through referrals, brokers, and other channels.
  • Acquire new KCC customers, demonstrating strong ability in credit analysis and handling financial documentation.
  • Utilize expertise in liabilities, foreign exchange, trade finance, delinquency control, and relationship management to grow business volumes.
  • Oversee the KCC portfolio by monitoring accounts, handling renewals, client retention, and sustaining portfolio health with minimal delays and covenant breaches.
  • Work collaboratively with branch banking teams and leverage the wider banking network for synergies.
  • Assess growth prospects through competitor studies and customer input.
  • Suggest and implement process enhancements to improve service efficiency and quality throughout the branch network.
  • Design and execute sales strategies, promotions, and marketing campaigns.
  • Interpret financial statements and master credit assessment and title/security documentation processes.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Attract and retain top talent within the reporting unit.
  • Track employee productivity, quality of hires, and attrition; institute necessary improvements.
  • Support teams strategically and operationally to meet growth targets.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in any field.
  • At least 3 years of applicable experience in rural banking, credit products like KCC, or relationship management.
  • In-depth knowledge of KCC products and rural customer requirements.
  • Proficient in credit evaluation and financial document review.
  • Strong communication, relationship building, and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Strategic thinker able to propel business growth.
  • High standards of integrity and adherence to compliance.
  • Leadership skills to manage team performance effectively.
  • Understanding of banking operations, portfolio maintenance, and customer service norms.
