Job Summary
PayPal is seeking a Product Manager for its enterprise open banking product team. This role involves collaborating with internal product and business teams to leverage open banking across various use cases and working with engineering teams to define requirements and understand technical architecture for advancing the enterprise platform and delivering scalable solutions. This is an individual contributor position.
Job Description
The Product Manager will be responsible for using data to inform product and platform requirements aligned with the product vision. This includes gathering customer insights and needs to shape product requirements, analyzing market research and usability studies to support data-driven decisions, and monitoring product profitability metrics, including budget. The role requires leading sprint planning, daily standups, and retrospectives to drive execution, and interfacing with product and technology leadership. Collaboration with content developers, data scientists, product designers, and user experience researchers to identify new opportunities is also a key aspect.
Additional Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include contributing to the strategy and roadmap for open banking at PayPal, driving the execution of roadmap initiatives, and becoming a subject matter expert in technical, business, and user-centric aspects. The Product Manager will work closely with open banking use case teams to understand their needs, identify how open banking can deliver value, articulate benefits, and ensure use case requirements inform platform roadmaps. A strong technical understanding of assigned initiatives is crucial, enabling the Product Manager to ensure technical execution meets product requirements, communicate technical details to diverse audiences, and understand resulting architecture to inform future work. Creating comprehensive documentation for each initiative, detailing the rationale, anticipated benefits, success metrics, technical summaries, and key stakeholders, is also required. Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential for providing both high-level summaries and detailed explanations.
