About the Role
Royal Mail is seeking a dedicated Postperson (Postal Delivery Driver) to join their team in Clitheroe, England. This permanent, full-time position offers the chance to stay active, connect with the community, and enjoy comprehensive benefits. You will be responsible for delivering mail and parcels, becoming a familiar face in the local area. The role involves sorting mail at the delivery office and then delivering it by van and on foot, building positive relationships with customers along your route. Responsibilities
- Sort mail and parcels efficiently at the designated delivery office.
- Transport and deliver mail and parcels to addresses within the local area using a van and on foot.

Requirements
- Possession of a full, manual UK driving licence with a maximum of 6 penalty points, registered in your current name and address.
- A willingness to drive a Royal Mail van daily and the ability to successfully pass a driving assessment.
- Excellent physical fitness, including the ability to walk long distances (up to 12 miles or 20,000+ steps), climb stairs and hills, and lift/carry mailbags weighing over 10kg.
- Demonstrated reliability and a self-motivated work ethic.
- Strong organizational skills and resilience to manage a busy workload, especially during peak times.
- A customer-centric approach with a commitment to providing excellent service.
- Comfort working independently and outdoors.
- Willingness to work a rotating shift schedule, including some weekends and Sundays at Pendle Delivery Office.

Eligibility

A reliable, self-motivated, and customer-focused attitude is essential. The role requires comfort working outdoors and independently, as well as flexibility to work a rotating shift pattern that includes weekends.
Additional Information
The position is a permanent contract based at Clitheroe Delivery Office, BB7 2AJ. The working hours are 35 hours per week, spread across 5 days out of 7, with shifts typically falling between 08:00 and 15:00 or 13:00 and 19:00. Overtime is available and paid. While roles of 35-37 hours are advertised as full-time, contracts under 37 hours are officially classified as part-time. Postpersons are expected to securely deliver all items, including election materials and specific goods like food or alcohol, adhering to Royal Mail's business standards.
