Job description

About the Team

The Pique Lab is focused on delivering an engaging Math and Science learning experience for students aged 9 to 16 in Singapore. Its lessons are built using pedagogical research and data-led methods, with the aim of making learning enjoyable, reducing the time it takes students to grasp concepts, and helping them build a real interest in Math and Science.

Over the last ten years, the organisation has expanded from two co-founders to a team of more than 100 people across 10 departments. Its learning approach and exam-focused materials have supported over 20,000 students in achieving strong examination results.

With its headquarters in Singapore and remote teams in China, India, Malaysia, and the Philippines, the company operates with an open, fast-moving, and flat structure that values capability and contribution over job titles.

This opportunity is for people who are excited about Science, enjoy working closely with others, and like using technology to work efficiently while solving challenges directly.

Role Overview

As a Management Associate, your early work will centre on teaching, student support, content creation, and communication with parents. You will help bring Science to life for students while supporting their progress both inside and outside the classroom.

What You Will Do

  • Handle online and onsite classes with a clear understanding of students’ needs, learning styles, and motivation.
  • Prepare and deliver lessons based on the curriculum, while finding simple ways to explain Science ideas and address common misunderstandings.
  • Create learning content such as articles and videos so students can continue learning beyond class time.
  • Keep parents informed about their child’s progress and suggest suitable steps for improvement.

Training and Development

You will receive structured mentorship and intensive training during your first 9 months with the company to strengthen your confidence and subject expertise. You will begin through the Teaching Associate Programme, where you will build teaching capabilities in the following areas:

  • Content mastery: strengthen your foundation in the curriculum, key concepts, and common exam question types, along with effective answering methods.
  • Lesson delivery: learn how to make lessons engaging through clarity, coherence, pacing, gestures, expressions, and humour.
  • Classroom control: develop practical strategies to manage classes in a way that remains both enjoyable and disciplined.
  • Student performance support: use cues and teaching techniques that build confidence and deepen students’ interest in Science.
  • Parent communication: learn how to communicate with parents in a way that keeps them supportive and appreciative of your work.

After mastering the fundamentals, you may move into specialist or management career paths and take on projects or team leadership responsibilities.

Who This Role Suits

The company is seeking candidates with a strong interest in Science and the ability to teach it in a clear, engaging way. Prior teaching exposure is important, whether it comes from schools, learning centres, private tuition, volunteering, or similar settings.

Additional Information

This is a full-time teaching role, and there are no part-time teaching options because the company invests significant resources into developing teachers to an excellent standard. Full salary is paid during the training period.

The organisation specialises in Science and Math and plans to continue strengthening expertise in these areas over the next 3 to 5 years. Candidates who see Science or Math teaching as their long-term calling, or who want to grow into a specialised teaching career in these subjects, are especially encouraged to apply.

Compensation and Benefits

The role offers a base salary starting from SGD 4,000 per month, together with variable pay that increases based on contribution. Top performers may receive an annual performance bonus of up to 4 months.

Benefits include medical, dental, and vision coverage, technology benefits, up to 16 days of paid vacation leave, paid birthday leave, paid marriage leave, paid compassionate leave, time off for errands, wellness breaks, a fully stocked pantry, free meals on selected school holidays and weekends, company social events, and Fruity Fridays care packages.

Ideal Background

Applicants should have a strong Science foundation from primary or secondary education and be able to simplify difficult concepts. Having studied Science at university level is a plus. Experience in teaching is required, and the role also suits people who are positive, confident, engaging, adaptable, and willing to work hard to grow over the next 3 to 5 years.
