The post is focused on delivering inclusive, engaging teaching that helps every child progress well, build independence, and thrive academically and socially. The role also involves building strong relationships with colleagues, families, and the wider school community while contributing to a positive and high-performing school environment.
Core Purpose

- Work closely with fellow teachers to plan stimulating lessons aligned to curriculum expectations.
- Communicate clearly and professionally with colleagues, parents, and other stakeholders.
- Build constructive relationships with the whole school community.
- Collaborate flexibly with colleagues and, where relevant, curriculum support staff to promote pupil development.
- Create an organised classroom with appropriate learning resources and displays that encourage participation and engagement.

- Use creative and enthusiastic teaching approaches to keep pupils engaged and challenged.
- Observe, assess, and track children’s progress in line with school assessment procedures.
- Reflect on teaching, classroom provision, and pupil progress, then adapt planning and the learning environment accordingly.
- Work with specialists such as speech and language therapists, occupational therapists, and educational psychologists when needed.
- Embed the school’s Teacher and Learner DNA language and attitudes across the curriculum.
- Take ownership of class progress and use assessment data to inform planning, intervention, and next steps.
- Maintain accurate records of pupil development using Target Tracker.
- Share progress updates with parents and carers during conferences and other meetings.
- Follow the school’s behaviour policy and manage the classroom in a calm, effective, and age-appropriate way.
- Act as a positive role model and uphold the standards of behaviour expected from pupils.
- Promote self-control, independence, and high standards of conduct.
- Carry out duties as assigned in line with school policy.
- Contribute to curriculum action groups, including planning, assessment, resources, and special events.
- Support school events, outings, and activities, including those held in the evening or at weekends.
- Communicate with parents/carers about achievements and well-being using school systems such as CPOMS where appropriate.
- Contribute actively to the wider life and ethos of the school.
- Lead one weekly extracurricular activity each term.
Qualifications and Experience
The ideal candidate should hold a Bachelor’s degree in Kindergarten Education or a related subject, along with a PGCE or another recognised teaching qualification. A minimum of 1 to 2 years’ teaching experience in KG is required.
Knowledge, Skills, and Attributes

The role calls for professionalism, a genuine concern for children’s well-being, a positive and solution-oriented mindset, and respect for people from all backgrounds and roles.
Applicants should also have recent involvement in extracurricular activities and be willing to comply with safeguarding and police clearance requirements. The successful candidate must live in the same emirate as the assigned school.
