Kanner & Pintaluga, established in 2003, is a large litigation-focused law firm recognized among NLJ500 and Mid-Market Pro 50 firms. The firm has secured more than $1 billion in recoveries for clients dealing with property damage and personal injury matters across the country. With nearly 100 attorneys and over 30 offices nationwide, the organization is centered on helping clients pursue the fullest compensation available for their losses.

Role Overview

The Litigation Paralegal will assist the litigation team with daily case handling and trial readiness. This position combines administrative support, document handling, scheduling, filing, and client communication. The role is best suited to someone who can operate in a busy legal environment, collaborate closely with attorneys and team members, and continue building litigation experience.

Key Duties

  • Provide secretarial, clerical, and data-entry support for litigation matters.
  • Keep attorney calendars updated and monitor deadlines and important case milestones.
  • Arrange depositions, pre-deposition meetings, mediations, hearings, and other appointments.
  • Work with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, Adobe, and FileVine to organize and manage case documents.
  • Submit legal filings through the State E-Portal system and assist with other court submissions as needed.
  • Help attorneys prepare for depositions, hearings, and conferences.
  • Prepare routine court papers and litigation materials, including pleadings, motions, affidavits, and subpoenas, under attorney supervision.
  • Send communications to parties and non-parties through email, standard mail, and certified mail.
  • Respond to clients in a professional manner and direct questions to the right team member.
  • Coordinate virtual hearings by setting up CourtCalls and/or Zoom and arranging remote attendance.
  • Assist with fact-gathering efforts and keep case files complete, accurate, and well organized.
  • Take on additional related assignments as directed.

Work Schedule

This is a full-time position with hours from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, Monday through Friday.

Experience and Skills Needed

Candidates should bring a minimum of 3 years of litigation or paralegal experience, with personal injury litigation experience strongly preferred. Familiarity with the discovery process is also preferred. Prior state court e-filing experience is an advantage, although the willingness to learn is required. Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite is necessary, along with the ability to stay organized, prioritize multiple tasks, and manage a demanding workload in a fast-moving setting. Excellent communication, teamwork, and a positive service-oriented attitude are also important.

Benefits

Full-time employees and their families are eligible for a competitive benefits package. Summary benefits include competitive wages, paid time off, holiday leave, bereavement leave, sick time, a 401(k) retirement savings plan with firm match, group medical/dental/vision coverage, employer-paid supplemental benefits, voluntary supplemental benefits, and annual performance reviews.

Equal Opportunity and Employment Terms

The firm is an equal opportunity employer. It may change, assign, or reassign duties and responsibilities for this role at any time at its sole discretion. Employment is at-will.

Work Authorization and Verification

The employer participates in E-Verify and will use Form I-9 information to confirm authorization to work in the United States. If the system cannot verify work authorization, the employer must provide written instructions and an opportunity to contact the Department of Homeland Security or Social Security Administration before taking any adverse employment action, including termination. E-Verify is used only after a job offer has been accepted and the I-9 form is completed.
