Role Overview
The Litigation Paralegal will partner closely with attorneys on active matters, support trial preparation when necessary, handle fact-gathering tasks, and keep case files organized and current.
Core Duties
- Carry out administrative, clerical, secretarial, and data-entry work.
- Manage attorney calendars and coordinate scheduling.
- Arrange depositions, pre-depositions, meetings, mediations, and hearings.
- Organize and maintain documents using Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and Adobe.
- File legal documents electronically through Florida’s E-Portal system.
- Support attorneys in preparing for depositions, hearings, trials, and conferences.
- Prepare legal paperwork such as pleadings, motions, affidavits, and subpoenas.
- Distribute correspondence to parties and non-parties by email, standard mail, or certified mail.
- Communicate professionally with clients.
- Set up Court Calls or Zoom sessions for hearings.
- Take on additional related responsibilities as assigned.
Work Schedule
This is a full-time position with working hours from 8:00am to 5:00pm, Monday through Friday.
Experience and Qualifications
The ideal candidate brings at least 2 years of litigation experience. Prior trial exposure is preferred, along with experience filing in both state and federal courts. Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite is expected. The role also calls for the ability to handle a demanding workload in a fast-moving environment while communicating clearly with clients and colleagues. Strong organization, multitasking, prioritization, and a collaborative mindset are important.
