Role Overview
Al Jubairi Law Firm is looking for a Senior Counsel to join its Khobar office. In this role, you will help steer sophisticated corporate matters, guide clients on important legal and commercial issues, oversee litigation work, and support the leadership team by managing lawyers and legal projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Take the lead on corporate transactions such as mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, share purchase agreements, and special purpose vehicles.
- Prepare, examine, negotiate, and complete a broad range of commercial contracts and transaction-related documents.
- Advise clients across corporate, commercial, and employment-related legal issues.
- Supervise commercial and labor disputes and litigation proceedings.
- Deliver practical legal counsel while identifying and managing legal and business risks.
- Appear before judicial and quasi-judicial bodies whenever representation is needed.
- Handle matters end to end and ensure they are progressed efficiently and on time.
- Guide, coach, and oversee Associates and Legal Advisors.
- Partner with the firm’s Partners on business development, strategic work, and complex client assignments.
- Work across teams to distribute work effectively and keep matters moving smoothly.
- Track legal and regulatory changes that affect clients and the firm’s practice areas.
- Draft legal briefs, internal memoranda, reports, and client communications.
- Uphold high standards of discretion, professionalism, and client service at all times.
Requirements
- A Bachelor of Laws (LLB) degree or an equivalent qualification is required; an LLM is considered an added advantage.
- At least 8 years of relevant legal experience, ideally gained in a well-regarded law firm.
- Strong background in M&A, joint ventures, SPAs, SPVs, and general corporate/commercial advisory work.
- Hands-on experience handling commercial and labor litigation matters.
- Demonstrated ability to manage and lead teams of Associates and other legal professionals.
- Excellent legal drafting, negotiation, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
- Capability to juggle several complex matters at the same time.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to manage stakeholders effectively.
- English fluency is mandatory; Arabic proficiency is highly desirable.
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
- Saudi nationals are preferred.
