Role Purpose

The Labour Planner will be responsible for planning and tracking labour against detailed production schedules in a 24/7 production setting. Working closely with the Operations team, the role aims to reduce production time and cost, organise resources effectively, and improve overall efficiency.

Key Accountabilities

  • Carry out analysis of labour needs for mid- to long-term planning.
  • Ensure the right skills and resources are available while staying compliant with Working Time legislation across multiple business units.
  • Support the implementation of change initiatives.
  • Use technical and business systems knowledge to assist with testing, troubleshooting, and process mapping where needed.
  • Prepare reports showing achieved metrics and required actions.
  • Manage weekly supply payroll, worked hours, skill-set breakdowns, and absence reporting for agency and Keelings workers.
  • Maintain employee and staff records accurately.
  • Review and control Working Time Directive requirements in mid- and long-term plans.
  • Complete monthly audits.
  • Coordinate transport requirements.
  • Manage accommodation needs.
  • Work with recruitment on third-party agency staffing levels in relation to accommodation.
  • Handle any other duties reasonably assigned by the company.

Essential Skills and Knowledge

  • Strong spoken and written English.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Excellent organisation, attention to detail, and problem-solving ability.
  • Ability to learn quickly and work independently.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Good telephone etiquette.
  • Comfort working flexible patterns in a production environment operating 7 days a week and 24/7; the schedule will require any five days out of seven, with flexibility beyond normal shifts and willingness to work extra hours when needed.
  • Strong team-working approach.
  • Comfortable using a PC, email, and Microsoft Excel.

Desirable

  • A valid transport CPC licence would be an advantage.
  • Approximately 1 year of experience in a labour planning position.
