Role overview

The District Manager will be responsible for driving execution across the district and leading the team toward profitable sales. This includes ensuring excellent service levels, maintaining strong product placement with retail partners, fostering productive relationships with store staff, and keeping stock levels appropriately managed across all points of sale.

The role reports to a Regional Manager and covers approximately 1 to 4 U.S. states. It oversees a team of 20 to 30 Mobile Merchandisers and 1 to 2 District Mobile Merchandisers, with accountability for operational execution, visual merchandising standards, and the overall customer/service experience across the district.

Key responsibilities

  • Deliver steady results across sales, expense control, operations, and talent-related targets.
  • Spot performance gaps and create action plans to meet district sales goals.
  • Review controllable expenses and district KPIs, then adjust plans based on the findings.
  • Maintain the correct stock levels at each site using the company’s systems, tools, and established processes.
  • Schedule services in a cost-efficient manner to improve sales and maximize resources.
  • Study weekly sales data to support accurate district and operational scheduling.
  • Plan, monitor, and update weekly team schedules based on business demand.
  • Keep district staffing levels aligned with operational needs.
  • Develop and sustain strong relationships with internal stakeholders, retail partners, and store-level leadership.
  • Share market intelligence on trends, issues, and risks that may affect the district, region, or company.
  • Negotiate proactively to secure the best possible beeline locations at each point of sale.
  • Lead the team through clear communication, regular feedback, and performance-based consequences while following company procedures and SOPs.
  • Hire, onboard, and train new team members.
  • Carry out performance reviews and evaluations.
  • Manage remote team members effectively through consistent communication and reference tools.
  • Build rapid understanding of the local culture, people, and business during the first 30 days.
  • By days 30 to 60, assess the team and market and build a plan to close execution gaps.
  • By days 60 to 90, implement recruitment and succession planning so the direct team is fully trained and efficient.

Required experience and profile

The ideal candidate should have experience leading remote teams supported by technology, managing and developing district support roles, and working in roles with moderate to heavy travel. Success in this role also requires a disciplined, process-oriented approach to operational, administrative, and talent objectives.

Applicants should also bring experience in client-facing environments with multiple, simultaneous customer or partner relationships, along with moderate proficiency in company-issued devices and Microsoft Office.
