Position Overview
We are searching for a motivated and commercially minded Account Manager to join our dynamic team, overseeing a sales territory covering Mackay and the Bowen Basin regions. This permanent, full-time role emphasizes expanding sales, enhancing profit margins, and delivering outstanding outcomes for both existing and new clients. Approximately 80% of the role involves fieldwork, fostering strong face-to-face customer connections.
Responsibilities
- Regularly visit client sites to build lasting relationships with key stakeholders and uncover growth opportunities.
- Assess customer needs onsite and provide tailored, value-driven solutions to boost sales and margin improvements.
- Create and implement a detailed territory call plan to ensure comprehensive customer engagement and operational efficiency.
- Manage daily activities effectively to maximize productivity and customer interaction.
- Utilize strategic planning and data analysis to enhance territory growth.
- Achieve sales goals and improve margins through product optimization and disciplined pricing strategies.
- Identify and develop new business prospects within the assigned region.
- Collaborate with internal teams such as Customer Care and Supply Chain to ensure smooth service delivery.
Candidate Profile
- Demonstrated experience in account management or business development roles.
- In-depth knowledge of the Mackay and Bowen Basin markets.
- Strong interpersonal skills with an ability to build relationships face-to-face effectively.
- Excellent time management and strategic territory planning abilities.
- Commercially savvy with a thorough understanding of pricing models, margins, and business growth drivers.
- Self-driven and capable of working independently in a predominantly field-based position.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Willingness and ability to undertake regular travel, including overnight stays.

Additional Information
Field travel including regular overnight stays in the Bowen Basin area is a fundamental component of this position, with an expectation of at least four nights away per fortnight.
