Job description
About the Role
NTU International is developing a proposal for a project titled “Communication outreach and engagement on EU policies in North Africa, the Middle East and the Gulf.” As part of this effort, the organization is forming a roster of qualified Non-Key Experts (both Senior and Junior), to be mobilized on short-term, on-demand assignments over the 36-month project period.
The primary purpose of this position is to deliver strategic, technical, and logistical communication assistance to DG MENA. This will involve supporting the daily communication efforts aimed at enhancing the exposure, reach, and influence of the European Union’s policies, initiatives, and partnerships throughout the Middle East, North Africa, and Gulf regions.
Responsibilities
- Assist in planning and organizing press-related activities such as press trips, media briefings, and press conferences.
- Maintain communication and coordination with journalists, media agencies, and communication partners.
- Support the creation and distribution of press materials including releases, advisories, and press kits.
- Manage and update directories for media contacts and distribution lists.
- Oversee media logistics and accreditation processes for events.
- Monitor media coverage and contribute to compiling press reviews and reports.
- Help communication teams execute media outreach strategies.
- Provide administrative and logistical assistance for media relations projects.
Qualifications and Skills
- Hold a degree or equivalent qualification in journalism, communication, or media studies.
- Proficiency in English is required.
- Additional language skills in French and/or Arabic are advantageous.
Professional Experience
- At least two years of general experience in media or press relations.
- Minimum one year of specific experience in coordinating press activities including managing press trips, compiling press packs, and facilitating journalist interactions.
