Role Overview
As a Governance and Reporting Advisor, you will join a collaborative team dedicated to providing excellent governance, analysis, assurance, reporting, and project, program, and portfolio management services within the diverse Department of Justice portfolio in Brisbane.
Key Responsibilities
- Guide and support stakeholders to build a unified understanding of ICT Portfolio management goals.
- Assist projects and programs in executing Benefits Management and gather data to report on achieved benefits supporting ICT and departmental strategic objectives.
- Offer advisory support on standards, procedures, methods, tools, and techniques relevant to portfolio, program, and project management.
- Assess the progress and performance of projects and/or programs, suggesting necessary adjustments and generating governance reports with recommendations.
Additional Duties
- Prepare monthly reports on portfolio and pipeline status derived from project and program updates.
- Carry out other role-specific essential duties as required.
Required Skills and Competencies
- Strong knowledge of portfolio and project management methodologies and governance frameworks, such as PRINCE2 and MSP.
- Capability to analyze performance metrics, ensure compliance, and propose enhancements.
- Advanced analytical skills for interpreting data and creating clear, actionable reports.
- Proficient use of Microsoft Excel and Power BI for data visualization and reporting purposes.
- Experience with financial management, resource allocation, and prioritization contributing to planning and reporting.
- Ability to evaluate competing demands and suggest the best strategies to meet organizational objectives.
