ജോലി വിവരണം

Overview

In the capacity of Investigations Manager, you will independently lead the regional branch within the Statewide Investigations directorate of the Office of Industrial Relations (OIR). This role entails delivering strategic and operational leadership, along with expert guidance, aligned with OIR’s procedural frameworks, objectives, and performance criteria to ensure investigations uphold exceptional standards in quality, timeliness, and integrity. Collaboration with the Work Health and Safety (WHS) Prosecutor and legal offices is essential to secure appropriate legal counsel for investigations and to maintain the quality of prosecution briefs. The role may also require hands-on involvement in complex, drawn-out, or sensitive investigations.

Key Duties

  • Guide and support investigative teams by establishing operational strategies in line with OIR standards to ensure efficient and ethical investigative practices.
  • Offer expert consultation to senior leadership including the Director of Statewide Investigations and WHS Prosecutor on evolving investigative and enforcement issues.
  • Lead efforts to build and nurture interagency partnerships to optimize joint operations under established agreements and service frameworks.
  • Serve as WHSQ representative and provide testimony on workplace health and safety issues in legal proceedings before Industrial Magistrates, courts, tribunals, or coroners.
  • Establish and cultivate strategic relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including client groups and industry leaders, to enhance information sharing and provide senior advisory support.
  • Apply OIR human resources policies focusing on performance management, injury prevention, workplace safety, equal opportunity, and fostering a culture of diversity and discrimination-free environment.
  • Encourage innovation and continuous learning by mentoring inspectors and investigators and actively participating in the development and delivery of investigative training programs.
  • Exemplify professional conduct and adhere strictly to Queensland Public Service regulations and the Code of Conduct.
  • Ensure the health, safety, and welfare of your team members by promoting awareness and compliance with relevant OIR health, safety, and wellbeing policies.

Additional Information

The workforce under this role must remain flexible to rapidly adapt to shifting priorities, including the possibility of performing alternative duties or relocating temporarily or permanently to maintain service delivery.

The position involves exposure to potentially distressing material; hence, support is provided through professional supervision and access to an employee assistance program to manage vicarious trauma. Candidates should carefully assess their resilience and coping mechanisms for sustained performance in the role.

Applications will remain active for 12 months after submission.
