Role Overview
This position is for an experienced business development leader to drive out-licensing activity across European markets. The role involves building commercial partnerships, identifying suitable licensing opportunities, and supporting negotiations through to deal closure. It is a remote role with the expectation of international travel when needed.
Key Responsibilities
- Spot and develop out-licensing opportunities in European markets.
- Create and manage strong working relationships with pharmaceutical companies, distributors, and other commercial partners.
- Research and contact potential licensing partners for Humanis’ product portfolio.
- Guide business discussions and contribute to contract negotiations until the agreement is finalized.
- Design and apply out-licensing approaches tailored to each partner.
Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate should have substantial business development experience in pharmaceuticals, especially in out-licensing, along with familiarity in generic medicines and specialty products. A clear understanding of European pharma markets, tender processes, and partner selection dynamics is important. The role also calls for excellent negotiation and relationship-building abilities, independent working style, and fluency in English. Additional European language knowledge is considered a plus.
Qualifications
A bachelor’s degree is preferred in Pharmacy, Chemical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Business Administration, Economics, or another relevant field from the Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences. Applicants should have at least 6 years of business development experience in the pharmaceutical sector, with strong exposure to out-licensing.
