Job description
Role overview
This is a senior leadership opportunity for a United States-based professional to own the entire customer value journey, starting at first purchase and extending through retention, loyalty, and reactivation. The role is centered on improving lifetime value through lifecycle marketing, subscription performance, and loyalty strategy in a high-growth, performance-oriented environment. You will lead an established team while continuing to raise the bar on execution, experimentation, and business impact. A key part of the role is also to introduce AI-enabled workflows that improve personalization and operational scale across the customer journey.
Key accountabilities
- Take full ownership of LTV results as the main business metric, and design the lifecycle and retention plan that drives repeat buying and stronger customer value over time.
- Develop and run sophisticated segmentation and personalization frameworks so messaging stays relevant across every lifecycle stage and channel.
- Incorporate AI-based workflows into lifecycle marketing, reporting, creative production, and optimization to improve team productivity and output.
- Manage, coach, and grow a team that includes Director-level and senior lifecycle leaders, while strengthening accountability and performance across functions.
- Test and scale new retention and engagement channels beyond standard email and SMS, including direct mail, WhatsApp, and social messaging platforms.
- Work closely with ecommerce, CX, performance marketing, and brand teams so retention priorities support wider growth goals.
- Advance subscription and loyalty programs by improving cancellation experiences, save tactics, and membership value propositions.
Requirements
- At least 12 years of experience across retention, lifecycle marketing, loyalty, or subscriber growth, including 5+ years in senior leadership positions managing multi-layered teams.
- Background at VP, Senior Director, or comparable level within fast-growing DTC subscription businesses.
- Clear evidence of driving measurable gains in LTV, retention, or subscription performance at scale.
- Strong working knowledge of subscription platforms such as SKIO, Recharge, or Ordergroove, along with practical hands-on experience in Klaviyo and Postscript.
- Real-world use of AI in live environments to automate workflows, reporting, segmentation, or lifecycle optimization.
- Experience creating or expanding loyalty and membership programs, including understanding of program economics and customer engagement design.
- Ability to think strategically while also staying close to execution details.
- Excellent communication skills with a focus on clarity, prioritization, and results-driven leadership.
Benefits and compensation
The compensation for this role includes a competitive base salary of $225,000 to $250,000, depending on experience. Benefits include comprehensive health, dental, and vision coverage for employees and their families, generous paid time off, and a flexible remote-first setup. Additional perks include access to wellness benefits and free product subscription benefits, plus the opportunity to contribute in a fast-scaling environment with meaningful ownership and impact. The role also emphasizes work-life balance while maintaining high-performance expectations.
Hiring and application process
This position is posted on behalf of a partner company, which handles all applications and subsequent hiring steps. Applications are reviewed through an AI-assisted matching process that ranks candidates against the role’s core requirements before sharing a shortlist with the hiring company. Final decisions, interviews, and assessments are managed directly by the employer. The hiring process may also use AI tools to help review applications, analyze resumes, and identify possible inconsistencies or verification signals, while human recruiters retain final decision-making authority.
