Valdosta School Cleaner

Role overview

The Valdosta School Cleaner is responsible for keeping an assigned school area clean, orderly, and well maintained. This role requires availability from Monday through Friday, with starting pay at $14.00 per hour.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain the cleanliness and upkeep of assigned buildings and facilities.
• Use chemical cleaning products and powered cleaning equipment correctly to avoid damage to flooring and fixtures.
• Report any need for small repairs or larger maintenance work on building systems to the manager.
• Build and sustain positive working relationships with clients, teammates, shift coordinators, supervisors, and managers.
• Follow company, client, and regulatory safety, security, compliance, and quality rules and procedures.
• Dust and clean furniture, fittings, floors, ceilings, walls, equipment, and machinery.
• Relocate cabinets, boxes, furniture, crates, and equipment as needed to clean areas, using hand trucks when appropriate.
• Clean interior glass surfaces, windows, glass partitions, and mirrors using suitable cleaning materials and tools.
• Wash and replace blinds.
• Collect and dispose of trash.
• Sweep walkways, rake leaves, cut grass, remove snow, and handle other seasonal outdoor tasks when required.
• Wipe down tables, chairs, and equipment in food service areas.
• Clean, service, and restock restrooms.

This position is suitable for someone entering the workforce or returning after time away, especially if they have limited experience or education. ABM also welcomes military and veteran candidates, including those with related service experience.

Qualifications

• Applicants must be at least 18 years old.
• No prior experience is necessary; on-the-job training will be provided.
• No high school diploma, GED, or college degree is required.

Preferred background

• Customer service experience is preferred.
• One year of related work experience is preferred.
