Role overview
This position is for a dependable school custodian to handle routine cleaning and upkeep at a K-12 school, college, or university setting. The assigned shift is Monday through Friday, 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., and the hourly pay is $11.00.

Responsibilities
- Keep assigned spaces clean and orderly, which may include classrooms, hallways, restrooms, locker rooms, offices, and stairwells.
- Sweep, pick up debris, address spills, and mop floors in the designated work areas.
- Inspect trash containers routinely and empty them whenever necessary.
- Use cleaning chemicals and powered equipment according to procedure so floors and fixtures are not damaged.
- Report minor or major repair needs, or requests for additions to building systems, to the lead cleaner or manager.
- Maintain professional communication and working relationships with clients, coworkers, shift coordinators, supervisors, and managers.
- Gather, combine, and sort recycling into the correct containers.
- Dust and clean desks, chairs, tables, furniture, fixtures, doors, windowsills, floors, ceilings, and walls.
- Buff hard surfaces such as woodwork and stainless steel.
- Clean tabletops, chairs, and equipment in food service areas.
- Move cabinets, boxes, furniture, crates, and equipment as needed to clean the area, either by hand or with a hand truck.
- Wash interior glass, including windows, glass partitions, and mirrors, using water, cleaners, sponges, and squeegees.
- Perform outdoor or seasonal tasks such as sweeping walkways, raking leaves, cutting grass, removing snow, or other similar duties.
- Keep restrooms clean and polished.
- Follow all safety, security, compliance, and quality standards set by the company, clients, and relevant authorities.
Requirements
- Applicants must be at least 18 years old.
- No prior experience is required; training will be provided on the job.
- No high school diploma, GED, or college degree is needed.
- Previous customer service experience is preferred.
- One year of related work experience is preferred.
