Role overview

This full-time on-site role is for a Customs Supervisor based in Niagara-on-the-Lake, Ontario. The position supports the Branch Manager with the daily running of the Niagara Falls branch, with a focus on customs brokerage operations during after-hours and weekend coverage. The compensation starts at $60,000, along with eligible benefits, depending on experience and internal equity.

What you will do

  • Prepare import shipments across all transportation modes using SWI/IID.
  • Resolve rejected files that arise after hours or on weekends across all branches.
  • Oversee team scheduling and approve vacation requests in line with shift coverage needs.
  • Support operators by answering questions about clearances, CBSA matters, and related issues.
  • Monitor workflow continuously and confirm entries when they are due.
  • Follow departmental and organizational standard operating procedures and policies.
  • Spot tasks needing special handling, suggest better ways of working, and carry out fixes within your authority.
  • Contribute actively during weekly team briefings.
  • Take on other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or an equivalent qualification.
  • Certified Customs Specialist (CCS) designation, or actively working toward it.
  • At least 2 years of customs brokerage experience.

Language and computer skills

  • English is the main working language for this role; additional languages may be needed in other locations.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
  • Knowledge of the Imanet system is considered an advantage.

Working conditions

  • The role involves prolonged periods of sitting and standing while working at a desk and computer.
  • Occasional travel may be required.
  • Regular working hours apply, though business needs may sometimes require work beyond standard hours.
