In this role, you will bridge the technical and business aspects, guiding products from their initial concept through to launch by dissecting complex challenges into manageable steps for product development. Our Product Management team thrives on collaboration with creative engineers, designers, and marketers to build technologies that enhance access to global information. We are responsible for the entire product lifecycle, focusing on analyzing, positioning, packaging, promoting, and tailoring solutions for our users. The Core team specifically focuses on the technical infrastructure underpinning Google's flagship products, acting as owners and advocates for the foundational design elements, developer platforms, product components, and infrastructure that ensure excellent, secure, and consistent user experiences while accelerating innovation for developers. We identify and address technical barriers across Google's products, strengthening existing systems and making crucial technical decisions company-wide.
Responsibilities
- Spearhead the comprehensive execution of the strategy for consuming third-party code across all Google developer ecosystems.
- Partner with the Engineering team to conceptualize and implement automated functionalities, including sophisticated agentic systems for managing third-party risks.
- Define and oversee key performance indicators for the third-party software supply chain, such as the Alphabet Board's third-party risk metric, to provide a precise, quantifiable assessment of Google's security posture and residual risks.
- Act as the central point of contact between technical security operations and central governance, ensuring seamless integration of supply chain data with internal standards and external regulatory mandates.
- Translate the complexities of a highly intricate, interconnected system into clear, actionable insights and comprehensive status reports for executive leadership.
Minimum Qualifications
- Possession of a Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in product management or a comparable technical role.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in software engineering or a related technical discipline.
- At least 2 years of experience in developing or launching products or technologies within the security, privacy, or a similar domain.
Preferred Qualifications
- A Master's degree in a Technology or Business-related field.
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in a role involving the preparation and delivery of technical presentations to executive leadership.
- At least 2 years of experience in software development or engineering.
- A minimum of 2 years of experience collaborating cross-functionally with engineering, UX/UI, sales, finance, and other key stakeholders.
- At least 1 year of experience in a technical leadership capacity.
- Demonstrated experience in negotiation and change management, with a proven ability to effectively manage complexity and multiple priorities, efficiently lead teams, function as an individual contributor, and organize/prioritize numerous projects in a dynamic environment.
