About the Property

This opportunity is based at South Seas, a resort destination in the Pyramid Global Hospitality portfolio. The property sits on Captiva Island’s coast in Florida and includes 279 guest rooms, more than 7,000 square feet of meeting and event space, and 330 acres of coastal landscape and wildlife preserve.

Team members at this resort contribute to guest experiences across accommodation, events, and resort operations. The environment is fast-paced, collaborative, and centered on hospitality excellence.

Role Summary

The Room Attendant is accountable for keeping guest rooms, villas, residences, and related areas clean, orderly, and visually presentable at the highest standard. This is a full-time hourly role paying $21.00 per hour.

Key Responsibilities

  • Follow company and property standards to support safe and efficient hotel operations.
  • Use safe work practices to protect guests, coworkers, and yourself.
  • Maintain a neat professional appearance, including proper uniform and name tag.
  • Keep guest rooms, villas, homes of distinction, and buildings clean and safe for owners, guests, associates, and vendors.
  • Interact with guests and coworkers in a courteous, service-focused way.
  • Complete daily task sheets and submit them to the supervisor.
  • Prepare cleaning carts, supplies, linen bags, transportation vans, and storage areas for efficient housekeeping operations.
  • Perform pre-cleaning setup, including guest amenities, cleaning materials, and linens.
  • Clean and restock the assigned number of units each shift.
  • Remove rubbish and soiled linen from rooms and villas.
  • Strip beds and remake them with fresh linen.
  • Clean closets and replenish room supplies such as hangers, blankets, and pillows.
  • Clean windows, doors, walls, baseboards, vents, ceiling fans, fixtures, and kitchen appliances.
  • Clean bathrooms, including showers, tubs, toilets, and stall walls.
  • Replace towels, soaps, and other bathroom items for incoming guests.
  • Vacuum, steam, and spot-clean hard floors and carpeted areas.
  • Dust and polish furniture, fixtures, and wall decor in living areas, dining areas, and patios.
  • Vacuum rooms, hallways, and public areas.
  • Check door and window locks and report any unsafe or unsecured condition immediately.
  • Verify that lights and remote controls are working properly.
  • Manage lost and found items according to resort procedures.
  • Return keys and assignment sheets to the housekeeping office at the end of each shift.
  • Carry out other tasks as directed by the supervisor or manager.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
  • Prior experience in residences, villas, resorts, or a similar setting is preferred.
  • A valid driver’s license is preferred, and a motor vehicle background check will be completed.
  • Ability to communicate clearly with guests and team members.
  • Ability to make quick, accurate decisions when choosing between alternatives.
  • Comfort working in a busy, high-pressure, fast-moving environment.
  • Strong composure, objectivity, and active listening skills.
  • Capability to work both collaboratively and independently.
  • Good organization and time management skills.
  • Working knowledge of cleaning principles, cleaning products, and standard cleaning equipment.
  • Physical ability to stand, walk, kneel, bend, twist, and stoop for long periods.
  • Ability to lift up to 40 lbs.
  • Ability to scrub and scour surfaces and reach overhead during deep-cleaning tasks.
  • Ability to push or pull equipment weighing up to 100 lbs.
  • Willingness to work in different weather conditions, including heat and humidity.
  • Available for a 40-hour workweek with a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays.
