QA/QC Engineer Civil

Overview

This position is for a seasoned QA/QC Engineer (Civil) based in Doha, Qatar, supporting offshore oil and gas projects. The role focuses on making sure project work complies with the required specifications, international codes and standards, and client expectations. You will be responsible for guiding inspection activities across multiple disciplines and maintaining quality control through fabrication, construction, and offshore installation stages.

Responsibilities

The role centers on leading quality assurance and inspection activities for civil work on offshore oil and gas projects. You will coordinate multi-discipline inspection teams, ensure that work aligns with project and client requirements, and oversee quality performance through the full project lifecycle, including fabrication, construction, and offshore installation.

• Direct quality assurance and quality control activities for civil scope on offshore oil and gas projects.
• Lead and coordinate multi-discipline inspection teams.
• Verify compliance with project specifications, international standards, and client requirements.
• Support quality oversight during manufacturing, fabrication, construction, and offshore installation phases.
• Work on technical issues related to sour service environments, cladded piping, CRA pipelines, welding, NDT, coating, painting, internal lining, repair work, and specialized materials such as Monel sheathing.

Requirements

The ideal candidate must have a strong civil engineering background, deep experience in oil and gas QA/QC, and the required certifications for inspection, welding, NDT, and quality management auditing.

• B.Sc. degree in Civil Engineering.
• One of the following mandatory certifications: CSWIP 3.2, AWS Certified Welding Inspector (CWI), BGAS-CSWIP Grade 1, or NACE Level II.
• For the above certification, at least 2 years of post-certification experience is required.
• NDT Level II certification in Radiographic Testing (RT) and Ultrasonic Testing (UT), or another relevant method in line with CORP-QAL-STD-008.
• Certified QMS Lead Auditor in ISO 9001:2015, with a minimum of 2 years of post-certification experience.
• At least 15 years of experience in QA/QC roles within the oil and gas sector.
• Prior experience as a QA/QC Engineer or Client Representative leading multi-discipline inspection teams.
• Strong offshore project background, including offshore platforms and subsea pipelines.
• Hands-on exposure to manufacturing, fabrication, construction, and offshore installation work.
