Job description
About the role
This position is for an onsite electrical engineer working on heavy machinery projects at a customer location in Wackersdorf, Bavaria. You will serve as the main technical link between the customer and Tata Technologies’ engineering groups, helping coordinate project delivery across cost, quality, and schedule targets throughout the full product development cycle.
The role is hands-on, technically focused, and collaborative. It involves working with customer engineering teams, internal delivery centers, and other project stakeholders to create practical engineering outcomes for product development programs.
Key responsibilities
- Review technical drawings and engineering data to spot design gaps and resolve issues.
- Contribute to product development from prototype through production phases.
- Create and refine electro-mechanical designs using CAD software.
- Produce 3D wiring-harness layouts and 2D wiring diagrams for heavy machinery applications.
- Coordinate project tasks with both customer teams and internal colleagues.
- Keep project records accurate, current, and aligned with company procedures.
- Work closely with engineering, manufacturing, and technical stakeholders to maintain clear communication.
- Track deliverables so they satisfy customer expectations for cost, quality, and target outcomes.
- Partner with offshore engineering teams to support efficient project execution.
Required experience and knowledge
The ideal candidate has substantial electrical engineering experience in heavy machinery or a comparable industrial environment.
- Practical experience with CREO (PTC) for 3D modeling.
- Strong background in electrical harness routing and wiring design.
- Understanding of electrical schematics and electro-mechanical systems.
- Familiarity with Teamcenter (Siemens) or a similar PLM platform.
- Working knowledge of FEA basics, including linear and non-linear analysis, as well as CFD fundamentals.
- Awareness of GD&T, stamping and fabrication processes, APQP, DFMEA, DVP&R, and risk-management methods.
- Exposure to supplier coordination and PPAP-related processes.
- Ability to assess complex engineering information and make reliable technical decisions.
