About the role
Summerset is seeking a practical, hands-on Property Assistant for its Ellerslie village in Auckland. In this full-time onsite position, you will help maintain a safe, attractive, and well-run village environment while supporting the team that keeps residents’ homes and common areas in great shape.
You will work alongside the Property Manager and Head Gardener, contributing to both maintenance and garden-related work. This is a varied role suited to someone who enjoys solving problems, working with their hands, and taking satisfaction in delivering quality results.
What you will do
- Support everyday property upkeep and garden maintenance across the village.
- Assist with building repairs, maintenance tasks, and refurbishment work.
- Help with landscaping, gardening, and general grounds care.
- Take part in property checks and flag any safety or maintenance concerns.
- Communicate in a clear, respectful way with residents, colleagues, and contractors.
Working pattern
This is a permanent full-time role with working hours from Monday to Friday, 8:00am to 4:30pm.

- Hands-on experience in property maintenance and gardening.
- Solid DIY ability or trade-based skills; partial trade qualification is preferred.
- A valid driver’s licence.
- Confidence to work independently and manage tasks responsibly.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
