The team works together with a shared purpose: delivering a great quality of life for residents.
Role summary
This position is much more than general cleaning. The Housekeeper/Laundry Assistant plays a behind-the-scenes role in maintaining a fresh, welcoming, and respectful environment for residents in the Hamilton village. The work supports comfort, safety, dignity, and a true homelike atmosphere for residents, their families, and the wider team.
Key duties
- Carry out high-standard cleaning in resident rooms, bathrooms, shared spaces, laundry areas, and kitchen facilities.
- Wash, fold, and return residents’ clothes and linen carefully and promptly.
- Label, repair, and look after residents’ personal laundry items.
- Follow infection prevention practices and health and safety requirements.
- Develop positive, respectful connections with residents while being mindful of their individual needs.
Working pattern
This is a permanent, on-site role. The roster runs on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday, from 7:00am to 2:45pm.
Candidate profile
The ideal applicant brings housekeeping experience, preferably from healthcare or hospitality environments. A strong eye for detail, pride in quality work, and the ability to stay active and on your feet throughout the day are important. An interest in aged care is valued, and full training will be provided even if you do not already have direct experience.
Additional information
Summerset values diversity and encourages applications from people of all backgrounds and life experiences. The organisation highlights care, teamwork, and excellence as core values. Benefits mentioned for this role include weekend penal hourly rates, free Southern Cross Health Essentials insurance, a supportive team environment, and opportunities for career growth across aged care, hospitality, wellness, and related areas. Applications close on Monday 29 June, and the vacancy may be filled earlier if there is a high volume of interest.
