About the Role
ANZ is seeking a Product Owner within Technologies - Personal and Funds to own and shape the roadmap and backlog for delivery squads. The role is centred on turning business priorities into customer-led outcomes and strengthening the overall delivery of value.
Role Details
This opportunity is offered as two fixed-term engagements, one for 12 months and another for 6 months. The position is based in Auckland or Wellington, New Zealand, and follows a standard full-time schedule of 37.5 hours per week.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver outcomes that are aligned to the customer and the strategic direction of the portfolio.
- Set priorities across the roadmap and backlog, ensuring work reflects business goals and urgency.
- Increase the return on effort from scrum teams by focusing on meaningful delivery.
- Partner with business analysts, testers, project managers, and delivery teams to keep execution aligned with customer needs and business objectives.
- Work closely with a broad set of stakeholders, including discussions around budgets, estimates, and progress on delivery items.
- Strengthen agile ways of working across the portfolio through continuous improvement.
- Demonstrate strong customer focus and reflect ANZ values in day-to-day work.

- Ability to deliver value in complex initiatives and navigate ambiguity effectively.
- Hands-on experience operating in a genuine agile environment.
- A strong improvement mindset with a consistent drive to simplify processes.
- Solid understanding of banking and financial services, including market trends, technology shifts, regulations, competitors, and innovation.
