Role overview
Meta is hiring a Product Manager in New York, NY to lead a complex product area and work closely with engineers, designers, data scientists, and researchers. The role suits someone who can move fast, make sound product decisions, and keep teams aligned around clear goals.
What you will do
- Own and steer a challenging product area end to end.
- Set success measures, decide which problems matter most, and shape the right strategy while keeping the larger company context in mind.
- Continuously refine priorities as new information and business needs emerge.
- Build alignment on the highest-value opportunities and decide when to invest further and when to stop.
- Partner with cross-functional teams to define the product vision, create the roadmap, track milestones, remove blockers, and strengthen team effectiveness and morale.
- Spot dependencies early and coordinate shared approaches with neighboring product areas.
- Use user research and market insights to guide product choices and inform broader product direction.
- Influence partner teams, improve collaboration, and resolve conflicting objectives.
- Communicate strategy, decisions, and progress with exceptional clarity to all stakeholders.
- Coach and support other product managers and cross-functional colleagues through mentorship.
Experience and qualifications
- You should bring at least 8 years of relevant industry experience, including 3 or more years in product management.
- A bachelor’s degree or an equivalent qualification is required; a STEM background is preferred, including fields such as Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, Analytics, Mathematics, Physics, or Applied Sciences.
- You need experience leading cross-functional product teams across a full product line, including product mission, strategy, requirements, resourcing, and milestone delivery.
- Experience managing a product through its complete lifecycle is expected.
- You should have shown that you can materially improve both product performance and the effectiveness of the team delivering it.
- Strong capability in analyzing large, complex datasets and using data to make decisions is essential.
- You must be able to combine varied user needs and business context into one coherent product strategy.
- Experience motivating teams and influencing across an organization is important.
- Clear, highly structured communication is required, especially for complex topics.
- Experience identifying and hiring strong talent for cross-functional teams is needed.
Preferred AI-related experience
- Experience using AI tools to improve or redesign workflows and generate measurable gains such as efficiency or quality improvements is a plus.
- Prior work implementing responsible and ethical AI practices, including risk assessment and bias, quality, and accuracy review processes, is preferred.
- Ongoing development in AI skills such as prompt engineering, context engineering, agent orchestration, and awareness of emerging AI tools is also valued.

Compensation and benefits
The stated base salary range for this position is $173,000 to $241,000 per year, with additional bonus, equity, and benefits. Final pay is determined by skills, qualifications, experience, and location, and the listed range reflects base compensation only.
