Overview

This opportunity is for a Principal Landscape Planner to join an established Landscape Architecture team and contribute to multidisciplinary projects. The role can be based in Auckland, Wellington, or Christchurch, with a strong focus on delivering landscape planning outcomes that support wider project and business goals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and manage consent submissions.
  • Carry out landscape and visual assessments.
  • Lead and review design work for parks, streetscapes, public realm areas, and recreational facilities.
  • Support fee estimating and negotiation activities.
  • Take responsibility for project management and project leadership tasks.
  • Help grow landscape planning services through business development aligned to national strategies.
  • Build and maintain client and account relationships to strengthen existing partnerships.
  • Use networking and business development activity to expand the landscape portfolio.

Candidate Profile

  • A bachelor’s degree in Landscape Architecture or a closely related discipline.
  • NZILA registration.
  • At least 10 years of experience in landscape architecture and planning.
  • Strong experience in landscape and visual effects assessments.
  • A current full driver licence with a clean record.
