Role Overview
This position is for a Senior Manager in Buying, focused on the footwear category. The role is based in Bengaluru and requires 6 to 9 years of experience.
You will be responsible for managing buying operations for the category, with emphasis on business performance, supplier partnerships, inventory planning, and strategic execution. The role combines commercial ownership with analytical decision-making and cross-functional coordination.
Key Responsibilities
- Take ownership of the full profit and loss for the marketplace footwear business, with responsibility for GMV, revenue growth, margins, and overall profitability.
- Prepare and implement seasonal business plans that support the company’s growth objectives.
- Develop seasonal assortments for brands and monitor performance against plan.
- Lead joint business planning initiatives with important partners.
- Manage vendors and build strong long-term relationships.
- Work closely with the design team on creating new designs.
- Handle inventory planning and demand forecasting for the category.
- Use consumer understanding to turn insights into category actions.
Analytical Expectations
- Use advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables, forecasting tools, and data analysis, to generate business insights.
- Create dashboards to monitor key performance indicators and support faster decision-making.
- Solve business problems through data-driven analysis.
- Find demand gaps and improve conversion, discoverability, assortment, pricing, and promotions.
Required Skills
The ideal candidate should bring strong buying expertise, planning ability, negotiation skills, vendor management experience, stakeholder coordination, and category knowledge in footwear.
