Program Overview

Position: Phoenix - Design

Team: FWD

This is a returnship program for women returning after a career break. The opportunity is based in Bengaluru and follows an onsite working model. The program runs for 6 months.

Phoenix is designed to help women re-enter the workforce through a supportive environment with structured onboarding, tailored learning and development, mentorship, hands-on work, and strong benefits. The role is intended to create a smooth transition back to work and may also open a path to full-time opportunities with Myntra.

Key Responsibilities

  • Research seasonal fashion trends across silhouettes, fabrics, color palettes, print directions, and surface techniques relevant to D2C and fast-fashion segments such as streetwear, co-ords, Y2K, and minimal basics.
  • Develop mood boards, color narratives, silhouette directions, and print ideas that shape future brand assortments.
  • Study competitor and market offerings from digital-first and high-street brands to spot opportunities in silhouettes, trims, prints, washes, and surface detailing.
  • Create apparel designs for tops, bottoms, dresses, and co-ord sets with suitable detailing, trims, and surface treatments.
  • Apply working knowledge of denim fits, construction, and washes wherever relevant, while keeping the role broader than denim alone.
  • Design original prints, graphics, repeats, and placements using Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, or hand-drawn methods.
  • Render artwork on apparel sketches and technical flats to clearly show scale, placement, and color variations.
  • Maintain organized line sheets and documentation covering designs, print versions, iterations, and allocations in line with seasonal range plans.
  • Prepare detailed production-ready techpacks with construction notes, measurements, trims, stitch lines, and wash instructions.
  • Build print techpacks with scaling details, repeat format, placement information, and artwork specifications.
  • Recommend suitable fabrics, printing methods such as digital, screen, or sublimation, as well as surface finishes and wash treatments.
  • Manage color consistency using Pantone FHI so sampling and bulk production stay aligned.
  • Work closely with sourcing, buying, and factory operations teams to ensure apparel and print concepts are cost-effective and feasible.
  • Handle the full approval cycle for fabric strike-offs, print strike-offs, and lab dips, and resolve issues such as alignment errors or color bleed.
  • Coordinate with mills and vendors to maintain an agile base for fabrics and printing that supports fast turnaround needs.
  • Keep the design process aligned with seasonal deadlines and rapid concept-to-delivery timelines.
  • Join fit sessions with the tech team so print placement works well across sizes and garment shapes.
  • Support cataloging and marketing teams with creative inputs and storytelling for product copy and campaign content.

Requirements

  • Strong interest and capability in apparel design and print development.
  • Working knowledge of denim design, women’s western wear, knits, and woven categories.
  • Ability to research trends and convert them into commercially relevant concepts.
  • Hands-on skill in creating original prints and graphics.
  • Experience preparing detailed techpacks and print specifications.
  • Understanding of garment construction, fits, measurements, trims, and washes.
  • Comfort working with cross-functional teams and external vendors.
  • Knowledge of color management and Pantone-based standardization.
  • Ability to manage timelines, approvals, and iterative design work in a fast-paced setup.
  • Familiarity with Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop, or equivalent design methods.
