Job description
About the role
Bayernwerk helps ensure that around 7 million people across Bavaria are supplied with energy reliably every day. The company is actively shaping the energy transition, with roughly 400,000 decentralized generation plants already feeding green power into its grid. As part of the Bayernwerk Group, a wholly owned E.ON subsidiary, you will be joining a business with a broad mix of activities, including grid operations, grid expansion, energy network development, and e-mobility customer solutions.
To strengthen the Bayernwerk Netz GmbH team, the company is looking for a Data Steward (m/w/d) as soon as possible. Applications are accepted until 02.07.2026.
What you will do
- Serve as the main contact for data quality topics in the East Bavaria region, including capturing and documenting current data quality issues and helping establish the data quality framework.
- Support business units in handling data quality solutions and act as the central point of contact for related matters.
- Collect data quality requirements from departments and assist in translating them into clear business specifications.
- Contribute to the development of data quality rules and maintenance concepts.
- Help departments with questions and issues, and train users on new data quality solutions.
- Work closely with other Bayernwerk teams to ensure the required data quality is implemented from both a business and technical perspective.
What the company is looking for
- Strong problem-solving ability and the capacity to understand complex topics and turn them into clear, actionable insights.
- A collaborative mindset with solid communication skills, able to explain concepts and solutions clearly to different audiences.
- Professional experience and knowledge in the energy supply sector.
- Ideally, prior involvement in projects focused on digital and data-driven quality solutions and controlled data provisioning.
- Desirable technical knowledge in database management, ETL, and programming, such as SQL and Python.
- A completed degree in electrical engineering, computer science, business informatics, or a similar field.
What you can expect
- An opportunity to help drive the digital transformation at the heart of Bayernwerk’s future.
- Access to the broader E.ON network, with chances to gain new perspectives and learn across the group.
- Flexible working hours and work locations, plus a flex-time account that lets you convert overtime and travel time into time off.
- 30 days of annual leave.
- Collective agreement-based job security, along with attractive pay and additional benefits such as Christmas bonus, sick pay subsidy, accident insurance, and company pension provision.
Additional information
The company welcomes applicants from all backgrounds and emphasizes an open, appreciative culture. People with disabilities are encouraged to apply, as inclusion is considered a core part of the organization’s values.
