This role also contributes to building a strong, scalable analysis function that fits the club’s long-term ambitions.

The club describes this opportunity as part of a wider sporting legacy, with a focus on ambition, innovation, synergy, quality, accountability, diversity, and continuous improvement.

Match and tactical analysis

  • Own the full pre-match, live, and post-match analysis process for the Women’s First Team.
  • Prepare concise tactical insights that coaches and players can act on.
  • Create detailed opposition breakdowns covering strengths, weaknesses, and likely game plans.
  • Support matchday decisions by providing live analysis and quick feedback.
  • Keep all analysis aligned with the club’s game model and tactical approach.

Training and performance integration

  • Build and deliver training analysis that reflects the club’s game principles.
  • Work with coaching staff to assess tactical goals and review their effectiveness.
  • Blend tactical information with physical and medical data to form a fuller performance picture.
  • Use evidence-based feedback to support training design and player development.

Data and insight development

  • Develop a performance-analysis approach driven by KPIs, dashboards, and trend monitoring.
  • Combine video review and data analysis to improve coaching and player choices.
  • Produce ongoing team and individual performance reports across the season.
  • Turn complex findings into simple, usable recommendations for decision-makers.

Department leadership

  • Establish and lead the Women’s First Team analysis department, including staff, interns, and day-to-day workflows.
  • Create standards for quality control, best practice, and operational consistency.
  • Handle scheduling, project timing, and resource planning for the department.
  • Support the long-term expansion of the analysis function.

Technology and innovation

  • Lead the choice and rollout of analysis tools, platforms, and software.
  • Ensure effective use of systems such as Hudl, Wyscout, StatsBomb, and Second Spectrum.
  • Encourage innovation through automation, AI, and new analytical methods.
  • Review emerging technologies and assess how they can improve analysis impact.

Recruitment and talent identification

  • Assist recruitment through video scouting and data-led player identification.
  • Create player profiling methods that match the club’s style of play.
  • Contribute analytical input to recruitment and squad-planning discussions.

Player and staff education

  • Run engaging feedback sessions for players and staff.
  • Help players better understand tactical ideas and performance standards.
  • Teach coaches and support staff about current analysis methods and best practice.
  • Foster a learning culture built on reflection and constant improvement.

Collaboration

  • Coordinate closely with coaching, performance, medical, recruitment, operations, and IT teams.
  • Make sure analysis outputs support broader football goals and strategic priorities.
  • Keep all analysis work aligned with the club’s coaching methodology and football philosophy.

Qualifications and experience

Applicants should bring proven performance-analysis experience in professional football, along with a strong grasp of tactical principles, game models, and analysis methods. The role requires advanced confidence in video and data platforms, the ability to communicate clearly, and experience working in elite or high-performance environments. A collaborative approach, strong attention to detail, and the ability to simplify complex information are all important.

Preferred background includes a UEFA coaching qualification or equivalent, experience in women’s football, prior responsibility for building or leading an analysis department, and familiarity with data science or coding languages such as Python or R.

  • Hands-on use of Hudl, Wyscout, StatsBomb, Second Spectrum, or similar platforms.
  • Support for recruitment processes through data and video scouting.
  • Understanding of automation, AI, and new technologies used in football analysis.
  • Experience in a club or organisation that is growing and evolving.
