Job description

About the company

This is an expanding Australian insurance business with a strong focus on employee growth, internal promotion, and long-term careers. As the company continues to scale across New South Wales, it offers a clear development path, supportive leadership, and a team-oriented workplace.

Its assessment centres are modern and built around high standards for repair quality, customer experience, and assessor capability.

Role overview

As a Motor Assessor, you will be based at a dedicated assessment centre where vehicles are inspected on site to determine the most practical and economical repair approach. This position is centre-based rather than mobile, making it well suited to experienced tradespeople who want to step away from physically demanding workshop work into a more professional and sustainable career path.

Key duties

  • Examine vehicle damage and decide on the appropriate repair method
  • Check repair estimates, quotes, and any further damage identified during inspection
  • Carry out post-repair checks and quality reviews
  • Work closely with repairers and internal teams to keep communication clear and accurate
  • Use digital tools and assessment systems to record and manage inspections
  • Help deliver strong customer outcomes through precise assessments

Requirements

  • Trade qualification in panel beating or spray painting is mandatory
  • About 5 years of post-trade experience in a workshop setting
  • Previous experience preparing quotes and costing repairs
  • Solid knowledge of repair procedures and quality expectations
  • Confident communicator who can deal effectively with customers and stakeholders
  • Comfortable working with computers and digital assessment platforms
  • Available to work on site five days a week
  • Full Australian working rights are preferred
  • Previous motor assessor experience will be well regarded, although it is not essential

Benefits

  • Approximate salary range of $105,000 to $115,000
  • Company car, mobile phone, and laptop provided and fully maintained
  • Performance bonus paid every six months
  • Training on the job, plus support toward assessor accreditation
  • Multiple career progression options, including assessor, specialist, leadership, and other internal roles
  • Experienced management and a stable, supportive team environment
  • Opportunity to join a growing business with long-term stability
