Job description

About the Role

Fisher & Paykel is a well-established New Zealand brand with a global footprint, a strong history, and ambitious growth plans. Built on Kiwi roots, curiosity, and a focus on designing premium products around people, the company’s culture is shaped by being genuine, generous, inquisitive, and sustainability-minded. The team works collaboratively, values open ideas, and shares the goal of becoming the world’s most human-centred and number one premium appliance brand.

The business is moving into an exciting next stage as it grows its luxury brand presence in Auckland through a modern three-site campus. The company’s Global HQ is in Penrose, its Distribution Centre is in East Tāmaki, and its world-leading Global Experience Centre is in Grey Lynn. Together, these sites create a connected campus across the Auckland isthmus and are designed to support a centre of excellence for appliance design and innovation in Aotearoa New Zealand.

The Opportunity

The company is seeking a commercially minded Product Manager to join its New Zealand Distributor Business. This person should be a strong influencer with an agile mindset and will own the product lifecycle from new product introduction through to end of life. As the subject matter expert for the product portfolio, the role will provide insights that support portfolio growth across Fisher & Paykel Appliances and Haier.

What You’ll Do

You will lead planning and delivery of the product line strategy, help optimise the portfolio, and ensure the right balance of products by strengthening high performers and reducing lower-performing lines. You will also plan and deliver new product launches and related actions to improve revenue and margin, while developing a deep understanding of the product range, the brands, and their market pricing.

The role also requires you to understand the financial performance of the product line, prepare regular and well-supported market insights for Global Product Managers, and work closely with different channels to shape strategies that support their needs. You will collaborate across functions to keep stakeholders aligned and ensure decisions are coordinated across teams.

Success in this position will also involve responding to competitor moves, making sure the right product and market positioning are in place, and reviewing the performance of product lines. You will help ensure that Fisher & Paykel and Haier are represented consistently and in a way that reflects the brand value proposition at every customer touchpoint.

About You

We are looking for someone who is genuinely enthusiastic about products and confident in influencing and leading across the business to deliver commercial outcomes. You should have experience working with multiple stakeholders to drive growth and execute agreed plans.

You will be comfortable working in environments where not everything is fully defined, and you will naturally know how to gather, interpret, and present information clearly and concisely to the right audience. Over time, you will be trusted as a category expert within the organisation.

Ideally, you will bring prior product management experience in consumer goods, luxury goods, FMCG, or a category analyst role. A strong interest in the company, its business, and its product portfolio is an important part of what makes someone successful in this role.

What’s on Offer

This is a rare opportunity to join a large and complex global organisation headquartered in New Zealand, offering broad exposure across the business. The position brings varied and interesting challenges, along with continuous learning and development.

In addition to a competitive salary, the company offers flexible working, ongoing development, and strong opportunities for growth and progression. Team members also receive generous discounts on Fisher & Paykel and Haier products, life and disability insurance, discounted medical cover, access to a superannuation scheme, family leave support, a subsidised staff café, and free on-site parking.

You will also be joining a well-led organisation backed by a heritage brand that has repeatedly been recognised as one of New Zealand’s most trusted brands.

Application Information

Applicants are asked to submit a CV and cover letter.
