Job description
About the role
Fisher & Paykel is seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Food & Beverage Manager to help define a modern workplace food experience at its new Auckland campus. This role goes beyond standard hospitality management and focuses on how food can support nutrition, wellbeing, sustainability, innovation, and memorable experiences for employees and visitors alike.
You will work from a newly built, contemporary kitchen and hospitality space, leading the creation and delivery of fresh, nutritious, and inventive food offerings that align with current consumer expectations and support the health of the workforce.
This position follows a Monday-to-Friday schedule, with occasional weekend and shift work for special events. It offers a lifestyle-friendly routine while still giving you scope to be creative, trial new ideas, and keep improving the food journey.
In this hands-on leadership role, you will also be expected to cook main meals every day, set the standard for the team, and stay closely connected to the guest and customer experience.
Key responsibilities
- Enhance the food offering across the Auckland campus by delivering fresh, nourishing, and imaginative menus that support community, wellbeing, and a positive working day.
- Develop seasonal menu ideas, introduce new food concepts, and create hospitality experiences that raise the standard of the café and catering operation.
- Lead and support the team while also building strong supplier relationships and driving improvements in sustainability, service quality, and day-to-day operations.
- Take responsibility for preparing main meals on a daily basis and maintain a visible, hands-on leadership presence in the kitchen.
Candidate profile
- Background in managing a high-quality hospitality, café, catering, corporate dining, or food service operation.
- Current or previous experience as a Food & Beverage Manager, Head Chef, Executive Chef, Sous Chef, Catering Manager, or in a comparable leadership role.
- Strong culinary capability, a genuine interest in food and nutrition, and a history of creating inventive menus and food experiences.
- Commercial awareness with the ability to balance customer expectations, food quality, and operating costs.
- Confident leadership style with the ability to motivate teams and build effective relationships across the wider business.
- Curious, energetic, and motivated to help create a distinctive workplace food experience in New Zealand.
Why this role stands out
This is a rare opportunity to shape a new food program from the ground up at one of New Zealand’s best-known brands. You will work in a purpose-built modern kitchen, collaborate with talented colleagues, and influence how food, wellbeing, and hospitality contribute to the future employee experience.
In addition to a competitive salary, the role includes product discounts on Fisher & Paykel and Haier items, life and disability insurance, discounted medical cover, access to Whanau/Family leave benefits, and free on-site parking.
