About the Role

The Winnipeg Regional Health Authority (WRHA) is seeking a dedicated Maintenance Worker to independently and collaboratively perform ongoing facility maintenance and repairs in line with established guidelines and protocols. This role involves hands-on tasks in the Environmental Services department at Golden West Centennial Lodge.

  • Annual Base Hours: 2015 hours

  • Salary: $27.725 per hour

Responsibilities

  • Carry out maintenance and repair activities independently as well as collaboratively, adhering to WRHA policies and procedures.
  • Manage building operations ensuring safety and functionality.
  • Coordinate contract service requirements when necessary.
  • Maintain confidentiality and promote a secure and safe work environment.
  • Communicate effectively with staff and residents to foster positive relations.

Requirements and Qualifications

  • Minimum of three years’ experience in related trades or building operations management.
  • Completion of Grade 12 or equivalent education.
  • Valid Class 5 driver’s license.
  • Familiarity and compliance with legislation and regulations such as WHMIS, Workplace Safety, and Health standards.
  • Physical capability to handle heavy equipment and perform tasks involving bending, working at heights on ladders, scaffolds, and confined spaces, and operating in various weather conditions.
  • Reliable, punctual, and conscientious about equipment safety and economy.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and security within the workplace.
  • Completion and clearance of a Criminal Records Check (including Vulnerable Sector Search), Child Abuse Registry Check, and Adult Abuse Registry Check prior to employment. Costs incurred are the responsibility of the candidate.
