About the Role

The Winnipeg Regional Health Authority (WRHA) is seeking a dedicated Maintenance Worker to independently and collaboratively perform ongoing facility maintenance and repairs in line with established guidelines and protocols. This role involves hands-on tasks in the Environmental Services department at Golden West Centennial Lodge.

Annual Base Hours: 2015 hours

Salary: $27.725 per hour

Responsibilities

Carry out maintenance and repair activities independently as well as collaboratively, adhering to WRHA policies and procedures.
Manage building operations ensuring safety and functionality.
Coordinate contract service requirements when necessary.
Maintain confidentiality and promote a secure and safe work environment.
Communicate effectively with staff and residents to foster positive relations.

Requirements and Qualifications

Minimum of three years’ experience in related trades or building operations management.
Completion of Grade 12 or equivalent education.
Valid Class 5 driver’s license.
Familiarity and compliance with legislation and regulations such as WHMIS, Workplace Safety, and Health standards.
Physical capability to handle heavy equipment and perform tasks involving bending, working at heights on ladders, scaffolds, and confined spaces, and operating in various weather conditions.
Reliable, punctual, and conscientious about equipment safety and economy.
Ability to maintain confidentiality and security within the workplace.
Completion and clearance of a Criminal Records Check (including Vulnerable Sector Search), Child Abuse Registry Check, and Adult Abuse Registry Check prior to employment. Costs incurred are the responsibility of the candidate.
