Job description

Role overview

Kraft Heinz is looking for a Maintenance Planner Scheduler to join the Maintenance team at its King Street site in Hastings, Hawke's Bay, New Zealand. This is a permanent, full-time position focused on shaping maintenance plans, supporting budget oversight, and contributing to the performance and reliability of the site.

The role sits within a collaborative maintenance environment that offers strong opportunities to develop and grow your engineering and maintenance career. It is suited to someone who wants to play an important part in site success while working closely with engineering, production, and management teams.

About the company

The Kraft Heinz Company is among the world’s largest food and beverage businesses. Its portfolio includes more than 200 legacy and emerging brands across categories such as condiments and sauces, cheese and dairy, meals, meats, refreshment beverages, coffee, infant nutrition, and other grocery products. The company operates in more than 40 countries and generates global sales of around $25 billion.

Key responsibilities

  • Plan and coordinate overhaul work, working with engineering planning and scheduling teams to make sure outage windows are met and major maintenance activities are completed on time.
  • Build, put into practice, and track preventive maintenance programs, while arranging and overseeing corrective maintenance when needed.
  • Collect and assess asset performance data and KPIs to identify issues, support reliability work, and guide improvement initiatives.
  • Integrate management system requirements into engineering processes and day-to-day working practices.
  • Support continuous improvement work, projects, and line-efficiency gains in partnership with operations.
  • Review breakdowns and downtime, identify root causes, and apply corrective actions to reduce repeat failures and improve availability.
  • Take responsibility for maintenance budget control, including estimates, extensions, and allocation of time and resources with maintenance and production teams.
  • Manage and forecast work order systems, annual maintenance planning and execution, and stakeholder and meeting coordination.

What you bring

You should be a confident communicator who can work effectively with production, engineering, and leadership teams. The role also calls for someone who can prioritise competing tasks, meet deadlines, and manage work to budget.

Strong analytical ability is important, including the capacity to interpret maintenance and asset data, prepare clear reports, and help develop preventive maintenance programs. Good digital skills are required, along with solid Microsoft Excel capability for handling data, reporting, and tracking.

Experience using a CMMS is needed, with Mainpac preferred, particularly for work order management and maintenance planning. You should also have relevant trade qualifications, practical maintenance experience, and the legal right to work in New Zealand.

Benefits

  • Performance-based pay with variable compensation linked to company and individual results, on top of a competitive base salary.
  • Paid parental leave for both primary and secondary caregivers.
  • Flexible leave options, including purchased leave, volunteer leave, and LiveWell leave.
  • Recognition as a Great Place to Work in Australia and New Zealand.
  • Access to in-house training programs.
  • Corporate discount programs.
