Role overview
This position is for a Payroll Analyst within the Global GBS team. Reporting to the Payroll Lead, the role focuses on keeping payroll operations accurate, timely, and aligned with policy and compliance expectations. The person in this role will handle payroll tickets, manage follow-ups on older pending items, support employee questions, and contribute to regular reporting and process control activities.
Key responsibilities
- Support the full payroll processing cycle while maintaining accuracy, policy adherence, and timely execution.
- Work through payroll tickets and manage the queue so requests are answered correctly and within the expected turnaround time.
- Track older unresolved tickets and coordinate follow-up to make sure they are closed within agreed timelines.
- Take ownership of escalated cases and partner with the Payroll Lead to resolve more complex payroll issues.
- Handle employee payroll questions promptly and professionally, keeping service quality high.
- Join daily team huddles to review priorities, ticket status, and urgent matters.
- Share updates in weekly discussions with HR business partners, including trends in queries, ticket progress, and improvement areas.
- Prepare weekly and monthly reports covering ticket volumes, resolution timelines, and key performance measures.
- Maintain records of resolved cases and help update documentation for process improvements.
- Support compliance activities by following established procedures and assisting with audit-related requests.
- Help maintain trackers and control mechanisms that improve transparency and adherence to process standards.
- Contribute to customer satisfaction efforts by reviewing feedback and supporting improvement actions.
- Follow the Kraft Heinz Management System standards and playbook for payroll operations.
Education and background
A bachelor’s degree in any discipline is required, with preference for Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field. Payroll certification, such as Certified Payroll Professional, is an added advantage, and certification in continuous improvement is also considered beneficial.
Experience
The role requires 2 to 4 years of experience in payroll operations. A working understanding of payroll processes, ticket handling, payroll reconciliation, and resolving unreconciled items is expected. Experience with payroll software and HRIS platforms is useful, and hands-on exposure to Workday is an advantage. Familiarity with Workday, Dayforce, and/or ServiceNow is considered a plus. Knowledge of payroll regulations and compliance requirements in the relevant country is also needed.
Skills required
Strong English communication skills are essential, along with excellent written and verbal expression. The role also calls for sharp attention to detail, accuracy, strong planning and prioritization ability, a customer-focused mindset, analytical thinking, and comfort working in ticketing systems and queue-based workflows.
Work location
This is an onsite role based in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, at Venus Stratum GCC.
