About The Opportunity

Unity Star Import and Export FZE LLC is a thriving FZE company in the UAE, actively involved in the import/export and hospitality support industries. We provide essential backend operational services to a wide range of high-volume food service and catering clients throughout the Emirates. The Kitchen Helper position is crucial to our daily operations, ensuring that kitchens function with utmost cleanliness, efficiency, and adherence to all hygiene and safety standards. This role supports both local and expatriate culinary teams in various commercial and event-based settings.

Role & Responsibilities

• Organize and prepare kitchen stations prior to service, which includes sorting, washing, and storing ingredients and utensils.
• Aid chefs with fundamental food preparation tasks, such as chopping vegetables and measuring ingredients, as instructed.
• Uphold rigorous cleanliness standards for all work areas, equipment, and storage spaces in accordance with UAE food safety regulations.
• Manage waste disposal effectively, monitor inventory of disposable items, and assist with restocking necessary supplies.
• Contribute to kitchen operations during busy periods, including food plating, dishwashing, and cleaning prep areas after service.
• Follow directions from supervisors precisely and promptly report any equipment issues or safety concerns.

Skills & Qualifications

• Basic understanding of kitchen hygiene and UAE food safety protocols is required.
• Previous experience in commercial kitchen settings, even at an entry level, is necessary.
• Must be able to stand for extended periods and lift up to 20kg when handling supplies.
• Ability to comprehend and follow verbal instructions in English or Arabic is essential.
• Familiarity with standard kitchen tools such as knives, peelers, blenders, steamers, and fryers is needed.
• A valid UAE residence visa and the legal right to work on-site in Dubai or Sharjah are mandatory.
• Prior experience in hotels, catering venues, or restaurant kitchens is advantageous.
• Possession of a basic food handling certification, like a Food Handler Permit, is preferred.
• Willingness to work flexible shifts, including weekends and public holidays, is a plus.
