About the Opportunity
This role is with a fast-expanding retail and import-export business in the UAE that serves customers through a network of physical stores. The team places strong emphasis on dependable service, smooth day-to-day store operations, and creating an efficient checkout experience. They are seeking a trustworthy, customer-oriented Retail Cashier to support front-of-house operations and contribute to the company’s service standards.
Core Responsibilities
- Handle customer purchases accurately and efficiently through POS systems, including cash, card, and mobile transactions.
- Deliver courteous, professional support at the checkout by responding to queries, addressing minor concerns, and guiding shoppers to the right products or team members.
- Verify the cash float at the beginning and end of each shift, and escalate any mismatch to the supervisor.
- Keep the checkout counter neat and orderly, while also helping with simple restocking tasks when required.
- Apply company rules for returns, discounts, and promotions to stay compliant and reduce shrinkage.
- Immediately notify management if any unusual activity or security issue is observed.
Skills and Qualifications
- Ability to operate POS systems confidently.
- Strong cash handling and transaction accuracy.
- Customer service and interpersonal communication skills.
- Good basic numeracy and attention to detail.
- Capability to manage minor customer concerns calmly.
- Valid UAE work authorization, or the ability to obtain it.
- Prior exposure to retail or food and beverage settings is an advantage.
- Knowledge of Arabic is preferred.
- Experience with inventory labels or scanning tools is helpful.
