Job description
Role overview
Yazio is looking for a Junior Product Designer to help shape the monetization experience used by millions of people building healthier habits. The work centers on the moments that help users understand value, make subscription decisions, and stay engaged with the product, including paywalls, subscription journeys, and product experiments.
This position is intentionally designed for someone early in their career. You will learn from an experienced Senior Product Designer, collaborate closely with Product Managers and Engineers, and receive regular feedback as you develop. The role starts with observing, learning the basics, and gradually progressing toward owning your own design challenges and projects.
The position is fully remote and open to candidates based in Germany, Spain, Portugal, or the United Kingdom.
Responsibilities
- Create mobile product experiences for paywalls, subscription journeys, and upsell flows.
- Translate concepts into wireframes, interactive prototypes, and polished high-fidelity designs.
- Work hand in hand with Product Managers, Engineers, and other Designers to bring ideas into production.
- Use user research, usability testing, and experiment results to inform design decisions.
- Strengthen designs through feedback, iteration, and performance data.
- Experiment with AI-based tools for ideation, prototyping, and research tasks.
- Prepare clear handoff materials for developers and help maintain design quality before launch.
- Contribute to the design system and participate in Design Guild initiatives.
- Take on increasing ownership of design work as your confidence and capability grow.
Requirements
- Some experience designing mobile product experiences through employment, internships, freelance work, or portfolio projects.
- Ability to create intuitive, user-friendly interfaces with strong attention to detail.
- Comfort turning ideas into wireframes, prototypes, and refined visual designs.
- Interest in understanding how design affects user behavior and business results.
- Openness to giving and receiving feedback and learning from others.
- Strong collaboration skills when working with Product Managers, Engineers, and Designers.
- Interest in using AI-driven workflows and improving your craft continuously.
- Motivation to grow in a fast-paced environment and own your development.
- Extra value if you have worked on mobile consumer products, design systems, user research, or experimentation.
- Additional advantage if you have designed subscription experiences, onboarding flows, or used AI-powered design tools.
Perks and benefits
- Remote-first working model with the option to work from home, use a co-working space, or work abroad for several weeks each year.
- 30 vacation days annually.
- 5 child sick days for situations when your child needs care.
- Strong focus on efficiency and balance, with no expectation of overtime and time back if overtime ever occurs.
- High-impact environment with quick decisions and little micromanagement.
- Supportive team culture with a fully covered company retreat, team meetups, and virtual coffee breaks.
- Equipment and support for productive work, including a MacBook, monitor, and €1,000 annual learning budget.
- Regular feedback and career development support.
- International team environment with English as the company language.
- Well-being support through Sunday Supplements and Nilo Health.
Eligibility
This role is open to candidates based in Germany, Spain, Portugal, or the United Kingdom. Applicants should be able to provide a CV in English, a short written introduction or short video, and any supporting work samples such as a portfolio or profile links.
