Janitor Driver

Role Overview

This position combines janitorial and custodial work with driving duties. The successful candidate will keep facilities neat, organized, and hygienic, while also handling heavy-duty cleaning tasks such as floor care, rug shampooing, wall and glass washing, and waste removal.

Key Duties

• Remove trash and dispose of it according to approved processes and infection-control guidelines.
• Carry out daily cleaning in shared spaces, including washrooms, corridors, lobbies, public areas, and storage rooms.
• Transport linens and supplies to designated storage areas.
• Dust surfaces and mop floors using the prescribed cleaning methods.
• Relocate furniture and equipment to clean thoroughly, then return items to their proper positions.
• Use assigned tools and materials to clean and sanitize work areas and surfaces.
• Wash walls, windows, furniture, baseboards, and similar fixtures to maintain a safe and presentable environment for patients, visitors, and staff.
• Proactively identify areas that need attention and complete cleaning tasks without waiting to be told.
• Strip, scrub, buff, and refinish floors; clean carpets by shampooing as needed.
• Complete other tasks assigned by the supervisor.

Candidate Profile

Applicants should have a valid driver’s licence and be able to provide a clean driving record. Experience in housekeeping or custodial work is helpful, and WHMIS certification is considered an advantage. Strong English communication skills are needed, both spoken and written, along with the ability to understand and follow instructions. The role requires someone who can work independently, collaborate with others when needed, and handle physically demanding work.

Additional Requirements

• A valid driver’s licence of at least 1 year, along with a clean driving record, must be provided.
• Candidates must be able to pass a driving assessment in a Ford F-150 pickup truck.
• At least 1 year of experience in janitorial services is required.
• Successful completion of a drug and alcohol screening is required.
• A criminal record check is mandatory.
• Work schedule is 10 hours per day.
• Rotation pattern is 20 days working followed by 10 days off.
• Canadian work experience is not required for this role.
• Artificial intelligence-based tools may be used at certain stages of recruitment and applicant screening.

Compensation

The role pays an hourly wage of $20.00. Final pay will depend on relevant skills, experience, qualifications, and internal equity.
